Chili Beans

With all this cold weather, I thought a good bowl of chili would be good!  I had some last night….but it was Sallie’s chili not mine.  I’ll have to get her recipe.  Hers is spicy and mine is a tad sweet.    You’re probably thinking sweet and chili just don’t go together but trust me on this one!

Chili Beans

2 lbs. Hamburger, browned
Onion, chopped  (as much or as little as you like!)
1 qt. Diced tomatoes
2 T. Chili powder*
1 C. Ketchup
2 T. Worchestershire Sauce
3 tsp. Mustard
1/4 C. Molasses
1 can Dark kidney beans
1 can Light kidney beans
1 can Chili beans
* I would taste-test the chili to see if more chili powder is needed.  I tend to add more.

Once hamburger is browned, add to pot, then begin adding the rest of ingredients.  There is no special order.  I like to let mine simmer for at least 30 min., longer if I have time.  Top with cheese & sour cream, or add a helping of brown rice!  Scoops are also good with a big bowl of chili!

Enjoy!
