This recipe is super easy and very good! If you are like me, anything I can throw in the crockpot and leave, is a keeper. Just whip up some mashed potatoes or a side of rice!
Recipe found in “Favorite Recipes from Around the Knob” Pilot Mtn. Woman’s Club. Thanks Nancy!
Crockpot Country-Style Steak
6-8 pieces of Cubed Steak (I like to quarter mine.)
3/4 C. Flour
1 Medium Onion, sliced
3 C. Water
1 env. Onion Gravy Mix
1 env. Brown Gravy Mix
1 env. Mushroom Gravy Mix
Roll steak in flour; brown on both sides in skillet. Then begin layering in crockpot – first steak then onions, until you run out. Add 2 C. water. Cover and cook on low for 8 hrs. Mix gravy mixes with 1 C. water; pour over steak. Cover; cook for 30 min. longer.
*I don’t always have the 3 different mixes. I have used all mushroom gravy, I’ve added lipton onion soup mix in place of onion gravy. You really can’t go wrong as long as it’s a brown gravy of some sort!
Enjoy!
